How does the Plastic Granulating Machine Work?
The main machine of the plastic granulating machine is the extruder system, which consists of an extrusion system, transmission system and heating and cooling system.
1. Extrusion system
The extrusion system includes a screw, barrel, hopper, head, and die, plastic through the extrusion system and plasticized into a uniform melt, and in the process established under pressure, by the screw continuous extrusion head.
(1) Screw: it is the most important part of the extruder. It is directly related to the scope of application and production efficiency of the extruder. It is made of high-strength corrosion-resistant alloy steel.
(2) Barrel: it is a metal seamless tube barrel, generally made of heat-resistant, high-pressure strength, strong wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant alloy steel or alloy steel lined with a composite steel pipe. The barrel cooperates with the screw to realize the crushing, softening, melting, plasticizing, exhausting and compacting of the plastic, and continuously and evenly conveying the rubber to the molding system. The length of the barrel is generally 18:1 of its diameter so that the plastic is fully heated and fully plasticized as a principle.
(3) Hopper: The bottom of the hopper is equipped with a cut-off device to adjust and cut off the material flow. The side of the hopper is equipped with a sight hole and a calibrated measuring device.
(4) Head and mold: The head is composed of alloy steel inner sleeve and carbon steel outer sleeve, and the head is equipped with molding mold. The function of the head is to transform the plastic melt in rotating motion into parallel linear motion, to introduce it into the mold sleeve evenly and smoothly, and to give the plastic the necessary molding pressure.
2. Transmission system
The role of the drive system is to drive the screw. It is usually composed of motor, reducer and bearing.
3. Heating and cooling device
Heating and cooling is necessary to condition for the plastic extrusion process to be able to carry out.
(1) Now the extruder is usually used for electric heating, divided into resistance heating and induction heating. The heating piece is installed in the body, neck and head parts. The heating device heats the plastic inside the barrel from the outside to warm it up to the temperature required for the process operation.
(2) The cooling device is set up to ensure that the plastic is in the temperature range required for the process. Specifically, it is to exclude the excess heat generated by the shear friction of the rotating screw in order to avoid excessive temperature to make the plastic decompose, scorch or set the shape difficult. Barrel cooling is divided into two kinds of water-cooled and air-cooled. General small and medium-sized extrusion machine using air cooling is more appropriate. Large-scale use of water cooling or a combination of two forms of cooling. Screw cooling is mainly used in the center of water cooling. The purpose is to increase the rate of solid material transport, stabilize the amount of rubber. Also, improve the quality of the product. But the cooling at the hopper, one is to strengthen the solid material conveying role, to prevent the plastic particles due to the temperature of the sticky blockage of the material mouth. The second is to ensure the normal work of the transmission part.
